Your guide to wildlife tour operators across the islands

The islands of Mull and Iona offer wildlife watching opportunities amidst some of the most stunning scenery in the UK. Sea eagles and golden eagles, otters, minke whales, puffins, seals and dolphins are commonly sighted around the islands and the elusive Corncrake is often heard and seen on Iona, as well as the Treshnish Islands and increasingly on Mull.

Wild Isles is a collaboration between local wildlife tour operators, agencies and enthusiasts which aims to encourage visitors and locals alike to experience and learn more about the incredible diversity of wildlife and nature on and around Mull and Iona.

The tour operators featured on this website offer sea and land tours and guided walks and talks. They aim to bring people closer to the magnificent creatures available to be seen on the islands, whilst offering a greater understanding of their habitats and behaviour.

Our annual Wildlife Week takes place during the second week of May, and incorporates a wide range of wildlife related events including walks, boat trips, exhibitions and family activities. Our goal, during this International Year of Biodiversity, is to promote the exceptional beauty of the islands and celebrate the huge diversity of wildlife to be seen and enjoyed.

Wildlife Week is over for another year but there are still plenty of outdoor activities for all ages run by the Ranger Service and the island's wildlife tour operators run land and sea based tours throughout the summer (some run thoughout the year).
