Tues 22nd June
Wild Flower walk - Caliach Point with Norma Dowling
Start at 11 a.m. Duration: 3 hours
Meeting Place:
A stroll through beautiful countryside looking at wild flowers along the way.
Bring a picnic if required.
Booking not required

Thurs 24th June
11am - 3pm
Guided walk: Midsummer murmurs on Market Bay.
Meet at Camus car park
We'll celebrate midsummer with a BBQ on the beach. Bring something to put on the bbq for lunch. Donations welcome. Phone Abi on 01681 700 043 for more info.

Fishing Competition on Loch Frisa

Lettermore, on Loch Frisa
Family fun to outwit the trout on Loch Frisa. See what you can catch. Lots of Prizes.

Calgary Work Party
1pm until 4pm
Calgary Bay meeting at Camping Area
Come and help Friends of Calgary Bay get Calgary ready for the summer, Activities include a beach clean, painting, and a general spruce up followed by refreshments. Donations to tea party welcome.

Guided walk: Glengorm Photographic walk with Phil McDermott
Start at 1p.m. Duration 3½ hours
Meeting Place: the Coffee Shop at Glengorm Castle
(Why not have your lunch there before the walk).
Join us stroll through the beautiful Glengorm estate with professional photographer Phil McDermott, who will give us the benefit of his advice and expertise.
Bring your camera.

Guided Walk: Staffa Stuff!

Meet at the pier on Staffa
The Ranger will meet your boat, on Staffa, and guide you to the best place on the island for puffins, you'll get time to explore Fingal's Cave on your own. Bring sturdy footwear and a camera

Tues 13th July
Activity: Young Wildlife Detectives Day near Loch Frisa Eagle Hide
Start at 11.00 a.m. Duration: 2 hours
Meeting Place: at the Sea Eagle trip meeting point (off the Craignure /Tobermory road at the Lettermore end).
We will then drive in convoy to the wildlife patch!
A morning for young nature fans to find clues and signs along the track and in the fields. Children between 5 and 12. Adults welcome to join in. Please book on 01680300640. Numbers limited to 15 children.

Guided walk: Owl Prowl:
Calgary Art in Nature Woodland
Start at 9.30 pm.
Meeting place: Tearooms at Calgary Farmhouse (park in the car park there)
Join Mull Ranger, Sue Dewar, on a walk to look and listen for owls in their natural habitat.

Start at 9.30pm. Duration: 1½ hours
Meeting Place: Main car park at Aros Park
An evening walk through the park with bat detectors to help us identify the bats in the park.

Guided walk: Birdwatching at Lochdon with wildlife ranger Steve Irvine
Start at 10.30 a.m. Duration: 2-3 hours
Meeting Place: turn left into Lochdon Crescent (signposted Gorten -off the Craignure to Fionnphort road about three miles out of Craignure)Drive past the houses and meet on the road beyond. A gentle walk around the area, watching birdlife in the fields and on the sea loch.

Guided Walk: Staffa Stuff!

The Ranger and local geologist James Westland will meet your boat on Staffa and guide you Fingal's Cave and other geological treats. Bring sturdy footwear and a camera! £5 (note you will need to pay your boat fare to Staffa)

Tuesday 24th August
Guided walk: Trip to the Top-Ardmore
2pm-4pm
Meeting at the Ardmore car park, nr Tobermory.
Come and join a ranger led walk around the northern most tip of Mull.
The walk offers the chance to view a fine mosaic of wildlife, including eagles, seals, coastal and woodland birds and flowers.

Thurs 26th August
Guided Walk: A walk on the wild side
(The Fossil Tree)
10am - 4pm
Meet at Tiroran Car Park on the Ardmeanach Peninsula
Join the Mull & Iona Ranger service for a strenuous all day walk to the famous fossil tree. The walk is long and hard going, involving slippery rocks and a descent down a steep iron ladder, but well worth the effort.

Wed 1st September
Talk: An Island Population of Barn Owls with Sue Dewar
Start at 7.30 p.m. Duration 1.5 hours
Venue: Salen Church Hall
An illustrated talk about the beautiful Barn Owls on Mull, and their lives compared to those on the mainland. Booking not required.

Weds 8th September
Guided walk: Pottering on Iona
2pm-5pm
Meet at the pier Iona
Join the Mull & Iona Ranger Service for a heritage (both natural and cultural) ramble. Please bring sturdy boots and waterproofs

Wed 15th September
An Evening at the Hide
Start at 7.30 p.m. Duration 2 hours
Meeting Place: please drive down to the Sea Eagle trip meeting point (off the Craignure / Tobermory road at the Lettermore end). We will then drive down to the hide in convoy.
A relaxing trip to the Sea Eagle Hide at the beautiful Loch Frisa to enjoy the sunset, watch the wildlife and maybe see the Sea Eagles.

Tuesday 22nd September.
Take your camera for a walk
Come out with local landscape photographer Sam Jones and capture the beauty of Mull through the camera lens.

Wednesday 6th October
Deer Rut Walk
Come and join Forestry Commission Wildlife Rangers' James Greig and Steve Irvine in search of the
'Monarchs' of North Mull
Meeting at Loch na Gualine Dubh Car Park,
(on the Tobermory/Salen Road) at 6.30pm on Wednesday 10th October.
Please wear sturdy footwear and waterproof clothing. Bring binoculars, telescopes and a torch if possible.
